VENICE BY POMPEO MOLMENTI ALL 6 VOLUMES 1906-1907-1908 NEAR FINE. Sometimes I amaze even myself. Somehow years ago, I acquired this incredible set of books about Venice, Italy but did not realize, probably because they were on the bottom shelf of my bookcase, how nice they are! On offer here are six volumes of the series Venice-- Its individual Growth from the Earliest Beginnings to the Fall of the Republic by Pompeo Molmenti. The series includes: - Venice- The Middle Ages - Parts I & II, dated 1906, pp.- 223 & 237. - Venice- The Golden Age Parts I & II, dated 1907, pp.- 289 & 331. - Venice- The Decadence Parts I & II, dated 1908, pp. 229 & 236. These six small hard cover books (5 ¾ x 8 ½ inches) are bound in maroon boards with embossed framing on the covers and gilt decorations and titles on the covers and spines. They were published by the Istituto Italiano D Arti Grafiche in Bergamo. They are well-illustrated with tissue-guarded, color frontispieces and many additional b&w plates, photos and figures throughout the text. The books were translated from the original Italian by Horatio F. Brown. Condition: These six books are in very good condition. The hard covers are generally clean and lightly bumped with some fading of the spines. Inside, the books are unmarked but there is some faint foxing to the early and late pages of all the books which does not extend into any of the bodies of text. One hinge (Part II of the Golden Age) has about a two-inch split to the front hinge; all the other hinges are intact, and the bindings are tight, sound and square. These books are not ex-library or remainders. International Edition
