A leading German master of mezzotint.Biography artist: Wolfgang Dietrich Majer (1698 1762), German painter active in Tübingen. Specialized in portraits of academics, clergy, and officials. His works were often reproduced in prints by Augsburg engravers such as Haid. Condition: very good, given age. Very clean sheet, wide margins, strong impression; minimal toning.
