He specialized in highly finished portrait engravings after paintings by Rigaud and Largilliere, contributing to the prestigious Drevet family's reputation as royal portrait engravers in 18th-century France.Biography artist: Hyacinthe Rigaud (1659 1743), French painter, one of the foremost portraitists of the Baroque era. Based in Paris, he became official court painter, producing portraits of Louis XIV, Louis XV, and numerous cardinals, ministers, and nobles. His grand portraits were widely disseminated in engraved form. Condition: very good, given age. Paper separation along the top right plate edge, backed.
