Offsetting from the jacket flaps to the free endpapers (as usual). The unclipped d/w is slightly rubbed along the top edge. Near fine in near fine d/w. A nice copy of this important book. Contributors include the Duke of Bedford, James Lees-Milne, Sir Oliver Millar and A. N. L. Munby. Published to coincide with an exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum (Roy Strong had become its youngest director in 1973), it helped draw attention to the loss of this cultural heritage. The hardback edition is uncommon and collectable, especially in this condition.
