Colour printed paper map 86x108cm, labelled in the Cyrillic alphabet, compiled in 1971, prepared for publication in 1972, and issued in 1974. Good, loosely folded, lightly creased. This covers the Oman / PDR Yemen coast from the Khuriya Muriya Islands to Itab, including Salalah, and showing the incomplete frontier, inland into Al Ubaylah and environs in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province. Two key diagrams locate each sheet, and demarcate administrative divisions. This was issued as part of the major Soviet global mapping programme during 1950-90 (the "Red Atlas"). Sheets comply with International Map of the World standards, with each quadrangle on a 1/1M identified by lettered bands and numbered zones. Sources are not named, but for the wider series included a mix of existing maps and guidebooks, the Zenit Satellite Programme from the 1960s, and "boots on the ground".
