In this travel work, Dieffenbach provides an account his travels under the auspices of the New Zealand Company. Notably, Dieffenbach was one of the first Europeans to visit the Rotomahana area in New Zealand. Lacking the very scarce four pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear of Volume II, as is typical with this work.Attractively bound in half calf, with endpapers renewed. Rebound in half calf, with marbled paper covered boards, and with endpapers renewed. Externally, fine. Internally, firmly bound.
