"Krasznahorkai László - Margó 2019" The fourth Hungarian edition of the first collection of short stories by the writer who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2025. In the eight stories that make up this volume, Lázsló Krasznahorkai once again dazzles the reader with his sagacity and sense of humour. Whether it is the revenge taken by a hunter on his neighbours, the exile of citizens condemned to an unbearable wait to board a ship under the surveillance of heavily armed militias, or the attempts of an enigmatic character to evade his pursuers, the irresistible ingenuity of the acclaimed Hungarian storyteller shines brightly. The questioning of human illusions, perfidy, betrayal and mistrust that runs through these stories makes them a perfect synthesis of the motifs that animate his entire masterful work. László Krasznahorkai (1954-) is a Nobel Prize winning Hungarian novelist and screenwriter known for difficult and demanding novels, often labeled postmodern, with dystopian and melancholic themes. Several of his works, including his novels Satantango (1985) and The Melancholy of Resistance (1989), have been adapted into feature films by Béla Tarr. He was awarded the Man Booker International Prize in 2015 and was frequently mentioned a favourite to win the Nobel Prize in Literature, which he did in 2025. ( O,O ) /)__) , ,
