The Pinetum + The Supplement to the Pinetum George Gordon Botany

THE PINETUM + A SUPPLEMENT TO GORDON S PINETUM BY GEORGE GORDON 1858 & 1862. I am pleased to be able to offer one of the rare books of botanical science, namely: The Pinetum: Being a Synopsis of all the Coniferous Plants at Present Known, with Descriptions, History, and Synonymes and A Supplement to Gordon s Pinetum: Containing Descriptions and Additional Synonyms of all the Coniferous Plants Not Before Enumerated in That Work by George Gordon, assisted by Robert Glendinning. These two medium-sized hard cover books (6 ¼ x 9 inches, 353 pages & 119 pages) were published by Henry G. Bohn of London dated 1858 & 1862. The books are blind-stamped in green cloth with gilt titles on the spines. Condition: These books are both in near fine condition. The only mark I found was the bookplate of the library of the villa of a noble family in Rome from where I acquired the books. The books are barely bumped but the spines are slightly sunned. The interior pages of both volumes are clean and bright throughout, without toning or foxing. The rear hinge of the main volume is cracked; all the rest are intact. The binding is tight and sound in both cases. These books are not ex-public library or remainders.
