Original cloth, blind fillets to front board, gilt title and blind fillets to spine, patterned endpapers. Light soiling and minor shelfwear, spine ends and corners bumped. Moderate toning to interior, negligible light foxing to a few leaves, partial crack in text block after title page, all leaves secure. A very good copy. $350. * Only edition. This was a famous case in which Harris, a medical student, murdered his wife with poisoned sleeping pills. He was convicted and executed in the electric chair at Sing Sing Prison. Harris's mother, who believed her son to be innocent, was the author of several edifying books for children and young women published under the pen-name Hope Ledyard.
