My Friend Tree [1st edition] Lorine Niedecker

Unpaginated 40pp staple bound landscape format book of poetry by Lorine Niedecker. This is the first edition of author's second published work. Published in a limited edition of 250 copies by the Wild Hawthorn Press - Ian Hamilton Finlay's first publication. Printed in Edinburgh by Shepherd. Contains 16 leaves of poetry, each illustrated with a linocut by Walter Miller (who also designed the book). Card covers with brown lettering and an illustration on the front cover - a copy of the first lino-cut printed in the book. Rust to staples which show through slightly to centre pages. Some faint toning to edges of the covers. Front cover has a faint vertical crease at top edge near fore edge with some light spotting. Single spot on top page edge. Another spot on the fore edge and one on the lower margin of the title page. Printer's ink faint mark on inside front cover. There is no Introduction sheet with this the first edition. Also included is a matching (unclipped) dust jacket which is in Good condition only. Toning to spine area and fore edges of the dust jacket. Biro mark on front cover of the dust jacket. Foxing to inside spine hinge of the dust jacket. The book and the dust jacket are now protected in two separate archival envelopes.
