State: I (2). Ref: Hollstein 40-63.Biography engraver: Simon Wynouts Frisius (ca. 1580-1628) was a Dutch engraver, etcher, draughtsman and calligrapher, born in Harlingen. He spent a few years in Paris but returned to the Netherlands, where he would spend his final days in The Hague.Biography artist: Igrapher, born in Harlingen. He spent a few years in Paris but returned to the Netherlands, where he would spend his final days in The Hague. Matthijs Bril or Matthijs Bril the Younger (1550, Antwerp-1583, Rome) was a Flemish painter specialised in landscapes. He spent most of his active career in Rome (from c. 1575) where he introduced the northern style of landscape painting. He was the son of the painter Matthijs Bril the Elder (Breda- died c. 1550, Antwerp).[2] and elder brother of Paul Bril. Condition: very good, given age. Light age toning and foxing; wide margins, clean plate impression. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
