In fair condition, with some scuffing to exteriors. Labels removed from heel of spines. Some instances of starting and cracking towards front and rear of both volumes. Light markings. Includes a variety of black-and-white illustrations and maps throughout both volumes. Chips and creases to top edge of some pages within Volume II. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A scarce autobiography of General Philip H. Sheridan (1831-1888), a Union calvary commander and close associate of Ulysses S. Grant. Following the Civil War, he was involved in conflicts with Native American groups and was instrumental in the preservation of what became Yellowstone National Park.
