The volume contains 5 colour plates/chromolithographs with portraits of Austrian-Hungarian high-ranking army officers and ministers of war (Ferdinand von Bauer, Friedrich von Beck, Edmund von Krieghammer, Zeno Welsersheimb, Géza Fejérvary von Komlos-Keresztes) and 6 plates with two maps, illustrations and table; there are additional illustrations in the text. One folio (pages 1043-1044) is missing.
