Occult Geometry Raleigh, A.S. Astrology,Occult

Scarce first edition of this text purportedly by Dr. Albert Sidney Raleigh (1881-1918). There is scant biographical information on Raleigh, but he was from Arkansas and spent time in Northern California as head of the Hermetic Brotherhood of Atlantis in San Francisco. Much of his work was published posthumously by the Hermetic Publishing Company in Chicago, the two addresses for which are tied to a George W. Wiggs. Wiggs was involved in several Chicago publishing companies, as well as gambling syndicates, commodities trading, and other rackets. He was also a leader of the Golden Dawn in the US and friends with Olney Richmond. It is likely this material was received legitimately by Wiggs from Raleigh before his death, or he perhaps just published under Raleigh's name. In any event a scarce book on God's production of the Universe and Man through Nature's mystical geometry. Hardcover in light blue cloth boards ruled in blind and stamped in gilt.
