Au centre, un petit poisson doré tient lieu de motif axial. Tête dorée, reliure et pages intérieures très bien conservées. Elegant half long-grain fawn morocco binding with corners, signed Paul Vié, smooth spine gilt-stamped with author, title, city, and date; gilt zigzag roll of scrolling foliage at head and tail; vertical central column design formed of fine dotted fillets punctuated with small gilt flowers, trefoils, and hanging palmettes; a small gilt fish serves as the central motif. Top edge gilt. Binding and interior pages in excellent condition. A handsome copy of Prévost's masterpiece, finely illustrated and tastefully bound.
