Far from the Madding Crowd HARDY, Thomas British literature

Small quarto, 400pp., illustrated by Agnes Miller Parker. About very good in the publisher's patterned boards with tan calf spine. Spine panel had dried out, and was recently treated with archival-grade leather restorative, though it still shows rubbing and scuffing. Some flecks to the gilt title, else a nice, clean copy. In the publisher's slipcase, generally toned, with a few small hairline cracks, but sound. One of 1500 limited copies SIGNED by Parker on the limitation page. Some (all?) copies were issued with a signed print; it is often missing, as is the case here. Among the superior publications from this period of the press, with excellent woodcuts by Parker.
