This is your opportunity to own a piece of Second World War history. Manufactured May 1943, this Remington Model 11 Sportsman (the 2+1-capacity version of the original Model 11) has a 20" cylinder-choke barrel stamped with the U.S. Ordnance flaming bomb, which is matched correctly on the receiver. Transitioning to non-military use when wartime needs ended, the receiver bears a Jackson County, Oregon serial number plate, and the end of the pistol-grip is stamped "No. 5 JACKSON CO." The receiver's "Military Finish" bluing is excellent; barrel bluing is good with some light storage and handling wear. Next to a faint US Ordnance ring logo on the stock is an FJA (Col. Frank J. Attwood) inspection cartouche. The bore, receiver and action spring are all exceptionally clean, possibly indicating minimal use. Wood is in good condition, with storage and handling marks expected on military and law-enforcement firearms of this vintage. The factory butt plate shows only slight wear.
