Covers and spine evenly tanned, spine-toed, a nice and sound very good copy, without a dust jacket as issued. Signed by Katherine Anne Porter and additionally Inscribed by her: ""For Fran Hodges at Christmas, 1958. With all best wishes."" Porter's ""A Christmas Story"" was first printed in a 1946 issue of the women's magazine *Mademoiselle*, and was published here as a Christmas gift for employees of the magazine. This was later published as a limited editions with illustrations by Ben Shahn. This earlier issue is very uncommon signed.
