[Signed] My Friend Henry Miller collection Perles, Alfred (Miller, Henry) [Very Good] [Hardcover]

The collection includes an inscribed copy of the first British edition, a typescript of the book and two ALS from Perles regarding the typing of the book. After Miller visited Perles in Europe, Perles came to America in 1954 and stayed with Miller at Big Sur. It was here he wrote and/or finished his book The Henry Miller Story. There are two ALS in green ink to friends of Perles and Miller named Robert and Eddie Fink. The ALS thanks them for their hospitality and there providing him the paper on which to type. He presented a copy of the typescript to them. The book is very good with light wear to the blue cloth and a small stain at the top of the page block. Inscribed to ""Elizabeth"" and dated 1956 in London by Perles. The unclipped dust jacket has small chips and tears at the corners and at top and bottom of spine. The typescript entitled The Henry Miller Story is in a binder. The typescript shows corrections and emendations in Perles hand. It does not include the Miller introduction. There is an ALS dated October 4, 1954 to the Finks stating here is the masterpiece, one sided. The second ALS is two sided and dated January 19, 1955 and thanks them for the paper for the typing and for their hospitality. more photos available.
