DESCRIPTION: Limited edition, no. 30 of 150 copies for sale. Giant folio size 22 x 15 inches (56 x 38 cm). Issued as unbound sheets within a red cloth clamshell box. The poem was set by hand in 22-point spectrum. Illustrated with 42 lithographic prints by Jim Dine. Over proofs of the poetry Dine drew interweaving images. Between the text pages are leaves illustrated with illustrations only. The images were printed by duotone offset lithography and the text overprinted by letterpress on English mouldmade paper by T. H. Saunders (Waterford), hot-press finish. A separate booklet (11 x 7 1/2 inches) containing an essay and explanatory glossary by Bill Berkson is contained in a recessed pocket of the clamshell box. Signed by the artist Jim Dine in the colophon._____CONDITION: Internal contents in fine condition. The red clamshell box has a small faint stain (""spot"") above the letter ""O"" and a faint superficial scuff on the left side of the clamshell box (NF)._____DISCUSSION: Biotherm is a true livre d'artiste book, the sixth collaboration between artist Jim Dine and Andrew Hoyem and the Arion Press. Dines pays homage to the poet and engages themes in O'Hara's last long poem.
