Later three quarter brown morocco over brown cloth boards, gilt titles to spine and ruling to raised bands and borders. Marbled endpapers. With inscription to Charles William Ward, secretary of the Drury Lane Theatre (1800-1812), signed by Sheridan, laid down to flyleaf. Provenance: Herbert L. Carlebach, with his leather bookplate to the front paste-down endpaper. Chafing of leather to joints and edges. Spine slightly tilted. Front hinge starting, endpapers a little shaken. Small damp stain to lower corners. A few sporadic rust spots, else internally quite clean. Williams, 222.
