Doubleday. New York. 1971. 400 pages. 1st Edition, first printing. Stated First Edition. SIGNED by Tom Robbins directly to the title page; signature only. Signed in person in NYC during the 2014 book tour of Mr. Robbins autobiography or as he would say, a true account of an imaginative life, titled Tibetan Peach Pie. Just 2 months shy of his 82nd birthday, Tom Robbins graciously signed this book as well as others. As for the book, the book is tight, crisp and clean. Corners are sharp. Quarter bound with green cloth binding over black cloth. Light rubbing to black cloth on rear cover. Bright green endpapers. Pages lay tight. Deckled foredge. Only flaw keeping the book from grading fine is minor soiling to rear panel and light wear at foot and crown of backstrip. The DJ is in slightly lesser condition than the book. 1st issue DJ with $6.95 price intact on flap. Rear of DJ shows light rubbing and handling. Unforgiving black DJ edges shows a small closed tear to front and rubbing at edges, folds and corners, mostly near the backstrip. At the time of signing, Mr. Robbins advised that there were only 6,000 printings in the initial print run. An uncommon signed title of Tom Robbin's first book in the first printing!
