This is a complete set of five full-color prints from Barry Smith's aborted suite of prints of key characters from the Robert E. Howard fantasy universe. The series was originally called ""Robert E. Howard's 10 Greatest Characters Memorial Portfolio"" but only the first five prints were completed. The prints were issued monthly for $5 each. The first print is numbered and signed by Smith. The edition was to be 920 copies. The prints are Conan of Cimmeria; Solomon Kane; Bran Mak Morn; Thoth Amon; and Valeria of the Red Brotherhood. The prints are 11 by 15 inches. Barry Windsor-Smith worked on the Conan the Barbarian comic book in the early 1970s. In 1974 he formed Gorblimey Press to market and sell prints of his work. He continued to work on comics as well. First edition (first printing). All five prints are fine. Included with this set is the rare original subscription application (unuse) detailing the planned publication schedule. There is also an advertising flyer for other fantasy portfolios. With the publication flyer, this may be the best known set. Numbered 745 of 920.
