DEWALT, founded in 1924 by Raymond E. DeWalt, the inventor of the radial arm saw, began as an industrial pioneer in woodworking innovation via its original Wonder-Worker machine, an adaptable, multi-purpose tool made to improve shop efficiency levels. After DEWALT quickly built a reputation for jobsite-ready durability, it was acquired by American Machine & Foundry Co. in 1949, then later by Black & Decker in 1960. Rebranded in the early 1990s to serve professional trades, DEWALT introduced its signature yellow-and-black identity and expanded into a full range of reliable, high-performance solutions for demanding work environments.
